Who I am

My journey to Westport began as a young adolescent, spending a summer in Saugatuck. I went to a local day camp where I met my future wife, Cara, whose family had a house in town. When we re-met years later, we began to spend weekends at the house and I started to learn why this was such a wonderful town. In the end, we chose to move our family here in 2005 and the rest is history.

I was born in the Bronx and raised there, and in Manhattan. I went to the Ethical Culture School and Fieldston and graduated from The Bronx High School of Science. I received a BS from Boston University in film and Master of Fine Arts in film from New York University.

Growing up, I was bathed in democratic politics and spent many a night at the Ben Franklin Democratic Club in the Bronx with my mother. I helped campaign for many democrats over the years; my favorite was Ed Koch. How my I doing?

I worked my way through school doing computer programming, technical support and went on to run entire systems for companies. I became a freelance writer, wrote scripts and made many short films and videos over the years.

The most important life decision we made as a family was for me to become our children Maya and Cayne’s stay-at-home parent. I relished every single day. I was a class parent, chaperone on trips and only missed their games and activities if they were both playing at the same time.

All the while, I became more involved in environmental advocacy, saving open space and historic houses, joining Westport’s RTM, sitting on Earthplace’s Board, becoming a Rotarian and in the end becoming the Executive Director of the Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce.
